Flying Fox caught in house wires

Writer: William WatsonWilliam Watson

A 5.00 am call to attend this Poor little Red Flying Fox that had managed to get it's head wedged between two wires that support a homes tv antenna.

Thankfully the address was only several hundred meters away, as there was no time to lose.

It was a fast rescue and the Flying Fox was expressed straight to Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital for emergency treatment.

Fingers crossed for this Red, whilst a Guarded Prognosis, it is now day two and with the right help, this precious soul holds on.

Update 12/4/21... Red Flying Fox suffered severe soft tissue trauma around it's neck, but has healed well enough to leave the hospital and go into care for rehab and then will be released.
